Where do you fit?

SugarCRM is looking for a highly effective VP of Product Marketing to guide our product strategy and tell our story to the marketplace.  Reporting to our CMO, you will research the CRM market, anticipate market trends, be the expert on our ideal buyer persona and guide our product strategy through our next phase of growth.  You will also articulate a clear, consistent, and creative value proposition for our target markets, while acting as the linchpin between our sales and product teams. 

You will have the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams across the business to develop compelling go-to-market initiatives and sales enablement programs, while strengthening our product positioning and messaging.  You will also have a proven track record of delivering successful results in the same or similar position at a CRM or another B2B software company.

Impact you will make in the role:

  • Drive technical product positioning, messaging, and naming.
  • Identify market trends and customer needs
  • Design and execute market research studies to gain critical insight about customer attitudes and behavior and develop programs that optimally position our products.
  • Strategize and conduct competitive analysis to help identify new marketing opportunities for the company.
  • Lead content development and ensure message alignment throughout all customer touch-points (website, sales team, etc.).
  • Define target markets, products and customers including business plans and entry strategy.
  • Bring products to market with a plan that includes market research on the addressable market, pricing and packaging.
  • Provide competitive threat analysis to include supporting data and timelines.
  • Work with executive staff to develop business plans for the company.
  • Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, budgets, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Create positive relations with partners and sales channels.
  • Recruit, motivate and manage product marketing staff.

Expertise you will bring in:

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in product management or product marketing, preferably in a CRM or B2B software company.
  • Experience marketing enterprise SaaS software.
  • High attention to detail with ability to remain organized and multi-task.
  • Strong written, verbal, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Highly collaborative with a deep sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Easily builds business partnerships and inspires team members.

Location: Cupertino, CA, or Raleigh, NC.
