Overview

Looma believes that the most powerful way to drive a purchase is to tell a story. We’re building a nationwide network of At-Shelf Maker Stories, comprised of tablets in grocery stores that play short videos about the humans behind our products. The goal of our films is simple: we want to capture and share stories of people who love what they do, driving emotional affinity for both vendor and venue. Ultimately, our vision for the maker story platform is to replicate the communal feel of a farmers’ market through a scalable channel that merges the online and offline experience.

Position Description

The Director of Brand Sales will be responsible for managing CPG brand relationships across all retailers and categories. Current retail partners include Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, and Gelson’s Markets, and our primary categories are craft beer, wine, dairy, and locally produced nonperishables. Because of the way we structure our grocery partnerships, lead generation tends to be fairly light, so the majority of this role is qualifying, closing, and reviewing post-campaign analytics. As our team scales, the Director of Brand Sales will be responsible for recruiting and managing a team of Brand Account Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Review and refine existing sales and post-sales processes
  • Systematize top of the funnel activities (currently not a lot of process here)
  • Select and implement a CRM tool
  • Transition existing accounts from CEO
  • Lots of qualifying and closing!
  • Manage mid-campaign comms and post-campaign analytics presentations
  • When ready, recruit and manage a team of Brand Account Managers

Qualifications

Truthfully, we don’t have many hard requirements for this position. Sales is as much art as it is science, so we’re willing to hire someone who excels in the art even if they don’t have a ton of CPG sales experience. However, here are the things that certainly count as bonuses:

  • Experience with CPG or retail
  • Experience in sales where ACV > $10k
  • Experience managing a sales team
  • Really strong written communications
  • Excel wizardry

Structure & Compensation

The Director of Brand Sales is a full-time position for which we expect the market salary to be $80k - $140k. Looma anticipates base cash compensation for this position to fall between $60k - $75k, with bonus potential that brings total cash comp to the $80k - $100k range. The balance between total cash comp and market rate will be paid in stock options.
